Based on the book Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, the Universal Pictures film directed by Steven Spielberg that started the film franchise, was a landmark in theaters in 1993, winner in three categories at the 66th Oscar ceremony.
The story features a theme park inhabited by dinosaurs extinct 65 million years ago, cloned from its DNA extracted from insects preserved in prehistoric amber. Ambitioned by John Hammond, an eccentric billionaire, the park located on an island near Costa Rica called Nublar, is put under review by Hammond to gain approval from a select group of experts formed by paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant, his paleobotanical student Ellie Sattler, mathematician Ian Malcolm and Donald Gennaro, a lawyer representing Hammond`s investors. Accompanied by the children Tim and Lex Murphy.
