Scarlet Witch in the comics is known as the mutant Wanda Maximoff, Daughter of Magneto. She and her twin brother Pietro join as members of the Magneto’s Mutant Brotherhood, as opponents of the X-Men. She holds the power to manipulate the odds in her favor and harness control to create chaos magic with her telekinetic abilities.
In Marvel Cinematic Universe, Scarlet Witch played by Elizabeth Olsen and Quicksilver his twin brother are not mutants. Wanda and Pietro were born in Sokovia, a country in Eastern Europe. In an effort to help their country, the twins agreed to undergo experiments with the Scepter containing the Mindstone under the supervision of Wolfgang von Strucker’s HYDRA, they were empowered as a result.
Wanda received various abilities, including telekinesis, telepathy and energy handling. When HYDRA fell, the twins teamed up with Ultron to get back at Tony Stark, but eventually changed sides and joined the Avengers when they discovered Ultron’s true intentions.
Wanda started a romantic relationship with Vision and together the two started living outside the network in Europe. However, the two were soon threatened by Thanos and the Black Order, who were looking for the Infinity Stone in Vision’s head
