Description
Just before the destruction of the planet Krypton, scientist Jor-El sends his little son Kal-El in a spaceship to Earth. Raised by farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent, young Clark discovers the source of his superhuman powers and moves to Metropolis to fight evil. As Superman, he fights the villain Lex Luthor and as a reporter, Clark Kent, tries to win over Lois Lane.
Directed by Richard Donner and starring Christopher Reeve (Clark Kent / Superman), Superman, the film, was a British, Swiss, Panamanian and American joint venture, produced by Warner Bros. Superman was released in December 1978 with critical acclaim and financial success, was nominated for 3 Oscars, including best editing, best music and best sound mix, and won ”Best Visual Effects”.
